Please help us protect this rare Taranaki wetland

Nestled next to Egmont National Park, between the Waiwhakaiho River and the Kaiauai Stream in north Taranaki, lies 133 hectares of a rare ecosystem. It is considered a Regionally Significant Wetland and a Key Native Ecosystem by Taranaki Regional Council and a Significant Natural Area by New Plymouth District Council. It is a high quality example of a regionally rare wetland type. Sadly, this type of habitat is acutely threatened, and there is less than 10% of it left. That’s why it’s so important to protect this area now, before it too disappears forever.

Please help us keep it safe by making a donation using the form below. We had no time to lose so we have agreed to purchase the property and an incredibly generous family of supporters has donated $200,000 towards its cost. We’re asking our wonderful supporters to join them in making a donation towards the full purchase price of $500,000.

Please make a donation today and join us in protecting our natural heritage. It’s only thanks to you, and others like you, that it’s possible for us to save these important areas of New Zealand’s native forests and wetlands.

Your donation can help make all the difference for the future of our natural environment. The amounts below show just how far your generous gift will go.

Every dollar will help protect precious sections of our native wetland forever. Thank you.
